For the first 15 years of my software development career I wore the uniform of business suit and tie. The exceptions were weekends, casual Fridays (when that became the custom), and when working at a client site where business casual was the rule.
When I first starting working from home about 20 years ago, I wore walking shorts and a shirt. Basically, golf clothes. The idea of working nude was not something I had even heard of, much less considered for myself, even though I loved being nude at the beach.Because my Florida home office would get warm from the computer equipment and the direct sun, after a few months I decided to remove my shirt for comfort. I had never worked shirtless. It took a while to get acclimated. I kept my naked chest to the grindstone.
Being physically more comfortable while working was something I enjoyed. It was not much longer when I decided to try working without clothes, figuring more comfort would be even more enjoyable. And it was. Another advantage of working nude is not having to make any wardrobe decisions in the morning; get out of the shower and become a productive member of society.
I don't work nude all the time. If it is not convenient due to going outside a lot because of our dogs or comfortable in cooler weather, Ill be clothed. Also, my wife now works with me from home. In the past, to foster a more professional atmosphere, I wasn't always naked at the keyboard. But over the years, with her getting accustomed to my non-sexual nudism, it doesn't seem to make any difference whether Im nude or not.
Whenever I am alone my clothes come off. Like just now. My studio is attached to our home so work is just steps away.I quite frequently work in the nude. It feels so much more comfortable to be clothing free. Plus I don't have to worry about getting paint on my clothing. In the summer it is especially better to work in the nude to keep cooler. Being naked seems to allow me to be more connected to the creative process.
As a continuation from my first post, now living in a different house. The morning sun makes my office much warmer than the other rooms. So, except for winter, much more comfortable to be working nude in there in the morning. My wife's office gets the afternoon sun. If I had that room for my office, nude afternoons would be the custom.
I was freelancing for a time (okay, I was unemployed and scrounging writing gigs here and there) and I often found no reason to get dressed when I got out of bed.
Although, I kept in mind some advice I've heard from both freelancers and job recruiters. When you are doing a job interview or speaking to an employer on the phone, they say, you should be dressed and sitting up like you are in their office. The theory being that your more formal bearing will come through on the phone call. I didn't buy it, until I recorded an interview I did with a subject. I was naked on the couch, and I sounded really lackadaisical. From then on, I would at least put on pants and sit at my desk. Better if I needed to write down things.

I can see how that could happen, especially by being on your couch. In my experience, I am always in my office when talking to a customer. Very focused on the task at hand.
I just started working at home as well, and while heading to the office in the buff in the morning, I seem to find reason to get clothed to some extent through the day. I think I am testing my productivity. But being as casual is the mood strikes is great. Giving up some of the office camaraderie is a down side though.
Wouldn't it be nice if like 'Casual Friday', employers could enact 'Naked Monday'. The week would certainly move along better...kind of like it now does for me, when working at home.
I persoannly find that I work better naked than with clothes - the freedom it brings makes me feel more relaxed and less caged in - I am happier and enjoy my work moreI can't always be naked -if someone else is indoors I have to respect that -but when I can now I discard all clothes and work away happy and productive

I am lucky enough to be able to work from home about 40% of the time, mostly in the summer, and always do so in the nude. Feels so much more comfortable. I just get up, hop in the shower, have breakfast and settle in my home office for the day. Don't wear a stitch of clothing until it's time to eat dinner - our eating area is somewhat visible from outside although the rest of the house is not.

Even though I always work from home, in the winter I get dressed, and waste a lot of time doing it. Also, spend a lot of time ironing clothes, which is greatly reduced in the summer.
