I also believe I offered to help moderate this group but was declined. It's probably an approved 'Bot safe space' to insure inclusivity for all life forms. LOL Maybe the GEICO lizard will show up next.
Agree 100%. Some housecleaning is definitely warranted. I've noticed quite a few groups that have little to know activity for years. With AI it should be easy enough to decommission groups that have no activity for the past "x" years. They can be archived and reestablished if there is enough activity and interest.
Also while I can appreciate the flexibility of starting a new group, that should be limited to certified users as well. Or at least have some level of screening before the group is made public.

The site owners do not have the manpower needed to do what is needed.
The only workable answer if TN is not to be made a subscription-only site, so that they can employ more staff, is for moderators to be allowed to delete posts that have been notified as transgressing the rules, and for additional moderators appointed to deal with the resulting workload.
I agree with the above post completely!! A minimal fee of, say $15 US per year would get rid of probably 99% of the trash. And anybody that says $15 is too much hasn't purchased alcohol, tobacco or fast food in ages!! The other point is the availability of volunteers. They are here and willing to do the work. An initial qualification of site volunteers is minimum of 7 years on TN with an average of three (3) real posts per year.
A SHOW OF HANDS OR AFFIRMATION, PLEASE.
Please respond to this post if you have volunteered to help clean up this growing pile of refuse. How many times have you volunteered ... no need to list a number greater than five (5). Both to groups and / or TN as a whole.
