"It's the Great Pumpkin Charley Brown " 50 yrs.
Return to DiscussionsWe will be watching it tonight,(nothing else is on). But we watch it every year. We have it on DVD, but being on t.v. is custom. I remember seeing it 50 years ago, (on black and white, no less). And I've tried to see it every year. Anyone else going back to their youth ?

Oh my goodness. What a wonderful classic. Its fun to see how the voice over kids have grown up, too and what they look like today as they look towards 60.

Oh, yes! And "A Charley Brown Christmas," with Linus reading the account of the Nativity. That is a precious memory...

It was definitely my favorite of the Peanut specials and I looked forward to seeing it every year growing up. I bought the DVD for my nieces when they were young and the book.

Major Peanuts fan here. For those that do not know there is a
great Charles Schultz museum in Santa Rosa, CA and across the
street is his ice rink where his table is still reserved for him in
the cafe. I get up every morning to the Peanuts day calendar
on my desk and love the specials.

Yes, watching the Great Pumpkin is an annual tradition! We totally
get into the Peanuts TV specials around here.
And regarding that previous comment from FullSun... I think your suggestion is
the BEST candidate we would have for this election!

I love all the Peanuts shows. They all have their own innocence and charm. They simply don't age.
