Return to DiscussionsJust uploaded a pic showing my Savage Model 23C in .32-20. Believe it or not, in the 1930's this was considered a varmint rifle. Mine sports a Weaver K2.5 on a Weaver side mount, a vintage lace on leather cheek rest, and Michael's barrel band sling swivels. I load a 100gr gas-check lead bullet that leaves the muzzle right at 1100 ft/sec. Nice quiet load with excellent accuracy at reasonable ranges. It is effective turkey and small/medium fur bearer medicine out to 75 yards or so.
Edit to add: Although it may look in the photo that my index finger is on the trigger I can assure you that it was not. Rather, it is on the remote control for the camera which I am hiding in my hand. No safety rules were violated in the taking of this photo.
