Master Bath Cabinet
Return to DiscussionsI had a corner of my master bathroom that was basically wasted
space and I needed more storage space in there to put stuff, so I
built my own. I did the cutting and some of the painting
outside(clothed) and assembled it in place, nude. It is 8' high
with a slanted front section for increased interior volume, it also
matches the angle of the door when it is fully open, so the
surfaces are parallel with each other. I had originally intended to
have a varnished wood grain face to it, but due to a glitch in
cutting, ended up having to paint it instead. I at first thought
about building it as a complete unit and then moving it in after
completion, but the finished size would have made that extremely
difficult, so I built it in place instead. This also had the added
benefit of reducing the needed material to cover the back and
sides, since I attached the shelving directly to the wall studs. I
will add some pictures to the photo gallery, so you can see what I
started with for the area in question, and how it turned out
finished. I hope the moderator arranges them in a logical order if
I don't get them uploaded in proper sequence.
One needs to be rotated to the right. Tried to do it while uploading, but it looks like it went in sideways, OOPS.
Cool, nice job. I'm not able to arrange the pics, just approve them. It looks like they're arranged backwards.
Ok, what ever, as long as they made it in. I guess most folks will be able to figure out the way it actually is supposed to go. I guess I should have uploaded the finished picture first and went to the build then the starting shots. But it turned out good, and now I have lots more storage space in the bathroom for towels, toilette paper, and other bathroom essentials.
