Not there, but Ive heard that location isnt looked upon fondly by the locals.

That's my understanding too. Used to be a large pull-off from the state highway, but it was blocked with steel guard rails and posted no parking in both directions. Was a favorite spot even for a 2+ hour drive. Updates appreciated.
