Bodybuilding or just being in good shape?

Return to Discussions

I'm not a great enthusiast of what most people would consider a body builder physique either men or women. However, who does likely see someone, male or female, who is in good physical shape?

Sadly, even being in "good shape" is increasingly rare and I think that the majority of TN users reflect wider society where being overweight and terribly out of shape is the norm. I've browsed through the photographs posted in this group and apart from the one female picture group main picture I've yet to see a single person who is sporting a decent physique.

I've been a sportsman all my life, worked hard to keep fit and maintain my physique, and it does take a lot of investment. Over the years I have received plenty of attention from men and women who have been attracted to my physique and for the most part I'm happy to have allowed many of them to have my body for their pleasure but so much of it is one-way; I'd love the opportunities to have the pleasure of an athletic and sporty body ......I would willingly suck a smooth cock attached to a fit body, or allow myself to be fucked by the same but it is just so rare.

Couldn't agree more that typical body builders are usually over the top (especially women) for me and I rather see physical fit 'normal' people. I think that keeping in good shape just requires some regular exercise and avoiding junk-food and over-eating in general. Moreover, I don't really get it that people allow themselves to get totally out-of-shape... I guess I would be too vain to let it happen. There seems to be a fine line between body building and totally losing shape...

"Good shape" is an open-ended term. I agree that most Americans are overweight or obese, which is supported by data in likely more than just the US. If you go back to the "golden age" of the 50's and 60's before body-building was widespread and the Western world was generally height and weight proportional, the standards for "good shape" were much lower. Sean Connery's peak physique of some muscles and lots of hair in his James Bond movies, for example, wouldn't turn many heads today. Rather, it takes a superhero shaved and ripped physique like Daniel Craig's Bond to get attention. Meanwhile, Western diets have changed so that the majority of our calories are from highly processed food, which are stored more than burned in our bodies. I know enough body builders to believe their lifestyle - especially their cycles of bulking and cutting - are neither healthy nor sustainable, even without steroids. How do you define "just being in good shape"? I suggest a toned physique from an active lifestyle and eating healthy, homemade food resulting in less than 25% body mass index (BMI) is both reasonable and maintainable without needing to be in the same league as James Bond.

That is right.

Bodies are not getting the home-made, free of oils and carbs and fresh fruits and veggies and legumes that everyone needs in order to survive, instead we are getting our diet rotted out by highly proccessed foods.

People are just not getting into shape because workout culture is being catty-cornered and cut-out by the establishment because they want us working like dogs for them in their dumb AI labs and in their mines for oil and minerals. Literally, we all are getting in way worse mental and physical shape because we are going back to the salt mines and coal mines for some establishments' business ambitions.

And they want us mad at them and not do anything about it! They want us in a frenzy and crash out and not do anything about it, so they can continue to lack accountability and escape accountablity and responsibility.

25% body fat!

To read that less than 25% body fat might be part of what might be thought of in good shape is, in my opinion way too generous because I'd be mortified if my body fat reached 25%. But I suppose where nearly half of the adult populations of many developed countries are obese then 25% is probably a realistic target.

Having looked at many pictures on TN I'm sad to say that the majority of TN users are overweight and badly out of shape. Why don't more folks take care of themselves?

most people are too lazy to keep their bodies fit. Too lazy to learn how and too lazy to actually do it.

Individuals all should feel, knowing these conditions, that they are empowered to stand up to the establishment and take individual action in getting into shape and moderating their weight! The establishment does not want us all to get there, to the lower overall weights and higher muscle weight density. People definitely will get there if they try.

Never lose hope, never give up!
