Return to DiscussionsHi, I nude fly fish Belt Creek in the Little Belt Mountains, in Montana. I have done it for twenty or more years. The area I fish is in the National Forest deep in Monarch Canyon. I wait until the creek is wadable and runs clear, usually sometime in early June. Weekdays are the best time to fish in Monarch Canyon, there is little activity on Belt Creek. It is a place of quiet solitude and majestic beauty. Once, a black bear and I passed each other. There was about twenty feet between us. We looked at each other and went our way.
