Bills Training Camp opens tomorrow
Return to DiscussionsSince we play in the HOF game we get to open early. THe downside of that is most of our draft picks are not yet signed.
Camp is about 5 miles from my house so I get to go pretty much whenever I want . Some of the practices require tickets, but those are either evening or opening weekend. Everyone around here is going ga-ga for TO - it'll be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to him.
I'll post some pictures...
So I've been to camp 3 or 4 times so far, and maybe going again tomorrow night. TO is the center of attention, with his every move cheered. He's been doing autographs pretty much every day from what I understand.
Football-wise, there have already been a few nagging injuries most recently to our starting RT Brad Butler. With so much change on the OL including 2 rookies projected to start at guards, the line needs all the time it can get. Supposedly rookie Eric Wood has been excellent against Marcus Stroud. Rookie TE Shawn Nelson is also getting quite a look with the starters but more as a split out receiving threat.
Defensively the nickel corner competition has been excellent after Jabari Greer signed with New Orleans. Ashton Youboty had 2 picks on Tuesday night. 2nd year Reggie Corner (well-named) and vet Drayton Florence make CB a very deep position even after starters Terrence McGee & Leodis McKelvin. Aaron Maybin remains unsigned but 2nd year DEChris Ellis is showing some speed off the edge.
I leave Friday morning to go to Canton for the HOF enshrinement/game. Should be a fun weekend (although probably not much nakedness) with a huge Bills contingent expected for Bruce Smith & Ralph Wilson going into the HOF and the Bills playing in the game the next night.
