veggies & flowers
Return to DiscussionsRoot veggies have been doing ok. Can't get spinach to grow for me. Tomato plants are doing good right now. Many of the flowers that I have planted are doing well. Blackberry bush has stalled as far getting berries to ripen this summer. Letting some plants go to seed.
Spinach is normally a cool weather crop. Try planting in late August/early September with protection from the sun in late hot days. You can also try a spinach that does better in the heat like Long Standing Bloomsdale available here: https://www.southernexposure.com/products/long-standing-bloomsdale-spinach/?variant=284
You will still need some protection from the hot afternoon sun. I recommend a 40% shade cloth.
