happy groundhog day
Return to Discussionshey new to the group here "avid gardner" and saw no one wished anyone a happy groundhog day yesterday according to what I heard of the report we are in for a early spring actually got a few pics posted here in group photos "they got posted fast thanks" of my tomato plants on groundhog day here in south texas we are lucky as we can grow tomatoes outside year round
Oh how I envy you. In the UK we have to pay special attention to the seasons and start again whenever we get it wrong. We have just experienced the wettest December and January in 30 years and is in the south of England where it has been relatively dry compared with the rest of the country. Roll on Spring is my motto at the moment although it has also been unseasonably warm and shoots are already appearing. I also had to cut my grass again today. It's a job I usually do naked but it was just a little too chilly to do that today.
thankfully for us here we might get a frost once every 3 yrs or so here by the water last year I actually covered plants up one night as the weatherman said it was going to freeze for once needless to say it did not come close to freezing and the only thing happened was my plants got squished down and some broke limbs
