Return to DiscussionsI have been unable to work these last couple of months so I have been spending a lot of time in the garden naked. One of the good things about the lockdown mode is that I'm not getting any "drop-ins" to cause me to have to get dressed. I'm finding that on those infrequent occasions when I need to get dressed that I get antsy and experience "withdrawal" from the naked world. Anyone else experiencing this as well?
Yes!!! I'm working from home for the last 2 months and I honestly have no idea how I am ever going to be able to return to wearing all of those clothes long enough to get through the workday in our office. My wife even jokes with me about how little laundry that she has to do now.
I'll have my first cup of coffee outside naked most days (if I wake up on time) and then get to work in the dining room (sometimes with as much as a t-shirt and shorts on since the back of my chair is right up against the front window of the house!) until lunchtime. I'll go outside and find something small to do during my lunch break, like feeding the birds or refilling the hummingbird feeders for my wife, or watering some of the plants for her. Then there's the hammock... out there in the middle of the back yard....
After workin clothes free for some time it does get where it's hard to put clothes back on and imagine having to work in them. A very unattractive idea. But when it's too cold to leave them off it's necessary and I have to put up with it. But I think things are arranged where I can go at the gardening about full time next spring, and be getting prepared for it all winter. cleaning up more land, moving some apple trees, and getting ready to plant a lot of garden. I have about decided to sell my antique international truck and ford tractor both, and put the proceeds into a heavy duty off road electric bicycle. I have another old tractor that needs a little work on it, plus the little kubota for rototilling, so I won't miss the ford, or the truck, since I have a 4x4 one ton Chevy to haul stuff. A heavy duty off road bicycle like that would be just the thing for getting around the land and the 1000's of acres of mountain forest back behind. Electric drive plus peddle power is a nice combination, quiet like I like to be. I don't like noisy machines, tells anyone within a mile I'm there, especially when I'm clothes free I'd rather see and hear before I'm seen or heard. If I get one with dual drives it'll be like a 4x4 vehicle, 2x2 actually. I can start making my naked trails again. I used to have them when I rode horse a lot but logging activity obliterated most of them.
