New Group
Return to DiscussionsAny opinions out there on if it would be worth starting a Naturist Hikers group? It would loose all the non-active members of this group, the history, and media. However, with active moderator(s) we would loose the spam and could freshen things up some. Thoughts?
A spam-free actively moderated group would be SO welcome. The main problem is maintaining active moderation. I know I'm not looking for more things to fill up my time. A related problem appears to be succession: when a sole active moderator moves on, what's the process to have a new moderator appointed? (Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any such process.) Having multiple associate owners/moderators is a solution, if some kind members would agree to step up.

I'm getting fed up with the spammers joining all the groups. I wish the moderators could weed these people out. Just yesterday, I was thinking of leaving this group because most of the posts are from spammers. The problem is a lot of legitimate members do not get certified because they do not want to provide a drivers license. If it was a certified only group, it would exclude those people. Perhaps the solution is a more diligent moderator.
It sounds like there is plenty of interest in a new group. I brought it up, so I would volunteer as a moderator. I've already ask the admins to take over moderation of this group, but never got a response--surprise, surprise. The good new is, in the one other group I moderate, I deleted the spam within 12 hours of it being posted and they eventually gave up.
I do think we need co-moderators. Any volunteers?
