I think that yoga could be very helpful but I would be investigating yoga studios for an experienced teacher that understands oost-surgery conditions. Most yoga is geared toward respecting body limits. Vancouver should have a lot to offer. Also check out P. T.
Maybe you will even fond a nice nude yoga class. It's very nice experience.
