Stories; how many of you actually write them?
Return to DiscussionsHow many of you actually write? I mean, this group is supposed to be about writing stories, fictional or factual, about or including, social nudity. I've written two short novels, published by eXtasy books, which feature nudist situations, and include GLBT relationships. Details available on request.
Part of what I do for a living is write technical manuals, instructions and test procedures. I've dabble in fiction, but never tried to publish anything. I'll maybe give it a try this upcoming winter. Seems it would be fun when I retire in a couple of years.
I've written quite a few works of fiction in various forms. I've posted one story here in this group and hope to post another at some point. Professionally,I do a lot of writing and can safely say the craft of storytelling is a major part of my life and livelihood.
I recently took up creative writing including fiction. Per my fellow writer's input, I have used my real life experiences as basis for short stories. I wrote a 3 part story, each around 2600 words long where i used my nudist experiences that i have had while traveling or hosting travelers in the story. When I read the work to the group I got the most reaction when I hit the nudist parts. There was some discussion after about the nude bowling and sights I saw at Sandy Hook beach in NJ. If interested in reading it shoot me a message and i will give the link
I write on various topics and publish regularly. I have written about my experiences as a nudist and my travels to various nudist and clothing optional venues. I have an article in the latest issue of the Naturist Society magazine about my travels on my Harley. The Naturist Society is a great organization for us and their magazine always has very interesting and informative articles.
Ill try to be brief. I spent much of my career writing technical reports. As that career has wound down, I wanted to try my hand at fiction. It has been an interesting transition. I have several things in the works, including being 90% of the way through a first draft of a novel (mostly a learning exercise). My writings have not been about naturism, but because I am a naturist, some naturism finds its way into everything I do. One work I have started, and want to get back to soon, is a non-fiction about hiking. That will include a couple of chapters about naked hiking (freehiking). Ive recently have gone through about a year where it was hard to sit down and write. It was suggested that to get my writing mojo back, I try writing some erotica. It is an easy genre to write. I collaborated on some pieces with a woman who was a good writer and who made me think about the mechanics of writing and storytelling. Unfortunately, she got pulled away, and now I have some fun stuff that may not get finished. She was fun to work with. That writing however served its purpose, and I am back to being productive. I should have that first draft completed shortly. So yes, I write, and now you have part of my story.
Once you start to write about things you did and saw in the past, it stimulates your memories, and you get carried away. Before you know it you've written pages! That's how I started writing fiction, using my own experiences and mixing them with scenarios I would have liked to have happened.
