Return to DiscussionsDid anyone give or receive a bourbon for the holidays ? If you gave a bottle was it favorite you like and want others to enjoy (maybe with a note to have the recipient to join you nude ) for a taste test .
If you recieved a bottle , any particular reason as to the bottle recieved.
I my myself gave a bottle of Dickel, along with an advent calandar that was madee up of whiskeys from around the world.
I received a bottle of GlenDronach Scotch - Yet to try
Lots of whiskey was exchanged over the holidays! I gave one friend a Very Old Barton bourbon and a Walking Dead bourbon. I received one of my favorite single malts - Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, as well as a Woodford Wheated whiskey. I'm looking forward to that wheated! Thanks to my brother over the holiday, I was able to get into some Lagavulin 16-year and Bowmore 12-year. The Lagavulin is peat heaven.
I got a whiskey advent calendar - 24 individual drams. The best six were (in my opinion):- Glen Scotia Double cask (single malt scotch); Compass Box Great King Street Artist's Blend (blended Scotch); Dewer's 12 year old the Ancestor (blended Scotch); Cardhu gold reserve [my normal preferred tipple] (single malt Scotch); Starward two fold (grain Whisky); and Tullamore Dew 14 year old(single malt Irish). Runners up were: Loch Lomand 12 year old (single malt Scotch); Bulleit frontier Rye Whiskey; and Jim Beam Rye
