Nudist who enjoy sailing on cruise ships
Meeting people from your ship
Return to DiscussionsHas anyone done a regular cruise and on a shore excursion to a nudist place run into people from your ship? Like going to say Little Beach in Maui or Orient Beach (I'm talking active participants, not Lookie Lous ). Do you acknowledge each other, talk to them, or hang out? After you get back to the ship, do you get back together? Just curious.
Never have that I know anyway. We were at Orient Beach from the Oasis of the Seas which is one of the very large ships. There were the normal foot traffic of textile folks wandering up and down the beach "not" looking at those of us enjoying the beach in our more comfortable way. Probably were some from our ship but couldn't tell. We did go from the ship to the Orient Beach taxi stand with another couple but they went left to the textile beach while we went right to the nude beach. Never saw them again. But like I said, the Oasis is very large and it's easy to meet someone one day and not find them for the rest of the week.
If they were friends, or became friends, we probably would have seen more of people we meet at a nude beach but casual acquaintances, no probably not. Wouldn't purposely try to avoid them but if a friendship didn't develop then why pretend otherwise.
Yes, I've seen fellow passengers at nude beaches. Most I just recognized from dining tables close to ours. A couple of times I've found fellow nudists in the sauna/steam room and discovered they were going to the same beaches. Once I was able to convince a couple to try the nude side of Orient Beach. We had a great time that day.
Well, St. Martin is still reeling from the hurricane damage, but if the stop is available, we will be stopping there next September. We will be taking a cab straight to Orient Beach to see how Club Orient rebuilding has gone. We plan to spend the day on their loungers and hopefully getting drinks at the new Perch. If anyone from our ship stops by, maybe we will see them.
