NUDISTS WHO LIKE SEEING THEMSELVES
Whether you enjoy looking at yourself in the mirror, or even your own photos. If you're vain or just proud to be nude. Appreciating the beauty of nudity begins by appreciating it in ourselves.
Nudist or Exhibitionist?
Return to DiscussionsI don't like wearing clothes, so I'll be naked regardless of whether or not anybody else can see me (weather permitting, that is- I'm not much for being naked once it gets too cold). If there are people who can see me, that's fine. I just don't really care one way or the other. I do enjoy seeing other people naked, mostly as a way of satisfying my curiosity about what they really look like.
I've got a few on-line friends with whom I've offered to share photos, and their response has usually been something like "There's a bit of exhibitionist in all of us; so, why not?"
But for me , the truth is, I don't "need" for you to see me naked: I like to be naked, and I like to share my enjoyment of being naked, and I like to see other people naked when it's okay for me to do so. One of the gifts of a forum like True Nudists at its best is the opportunity to show myself naked to others who will appreciate what they see, and who are likely to show the same to me.

I never thought that being an exhibitionist was an issue with naturism. I would have thought that it is the same when someone buys a new outfit and put it on to be complimented on how well you wear it. The same with your birthday suit. If you work hard for it and are proud of it then their shouldnt be a problem with anyone else. As long as it is not meant to offend others.

I think the issue is how people see the word 'exhibitionist'. Just being relaxed and body proud isn't exhibitionism although for a textile it might seem so. Exhibitionism is a sexual practice where the person is getting an erotic thrill from displaying.

The last thing we want people to think is that we are just naked because we wanna be sexually stimulated by allowing others to see our body
Anyone in the group have any comments on the word "voyeur"? Seems it should go hand in hand with exhibitionist.
I found these simple definitions online:
Exhibitionist: a person who behaves in an extravagant way in order to attract attention.
Voyeur: a person who gains sexual pleasure from watching others when they are naked or engaged in sexual activity.
I primarily enjoy being naked, which can define me as a nudist or naturist. I also enjoy seeing other and being seen by others in social nudity, though not in an extravagant or sexually-loaded manner. That doesnt seem to fit the definition of exhibitionist or voyeur in my case.
