Nudists Who Want Anti-Nudism Laws C
A group for those of us who want to have anti-nudism laws in our areas or states overturned or changed!
what laws do you want to see changed..
Return to DiscussionsI want a US Constitutional Amendment that declares nudity an inalienable right. I believe that if the US founding fathers knew how nudity would be treated today, they'd have put it in the bill of rights.Spain's Constitution includes nudity as an inalienable right.I am very interested to hear why the 1st amendment is not working for us all together because it makes freedom of our expression legal for our expression!
because most politicians in the swamp hate our constitution and they are rulers rather than employees of us. if you read history many founding fathers were nudist - went nude as well as presidents.

First amendment says speech, not expression. Supreme Court has ruled that certain types of expression are covered under speech, and have not ruled that nudity is one of them, except in specific cases related to art and dance.
Because the US Supreme Court has declared it so.I am very interested to hear why the 1st amendment is not working for us all together because it makes freedom of our expression legal for our expression!
The Supreme Court has officially declared that nudity is a state of dress and not a form of expression.
Jurisdictions are fearful to bring charges against someone who is nude as part of a protest or demonstration. By doing so, the issue of nudity as a form of expression will likely be brought up in court. If that happen, it is very likely that nudity will be ruled as a form of expression and protected under the First Amendment.
I would like to know why we can not have more beaches in this country where nudity is at least permissable
Prior to the 1990s, there were several secluded beaches in NJ where nudity was accepted, but not officially permitted. At my 25th class reunion in 1996, one of the rangers whose duties included enforcement of the new policy was in attendance, along with a few people who he had told to cover up or risk arrest.
It would be great if these areas were officially designated clothing optional.
Freedom of expression has its limits. A woman dressed as Virtue, the symbol on Virginia's flag that has one breast exposed, was arrested for indecent exposure at our state capitol protesting for the Equal Rights Amendment back in 2019. Here's an article if you never heard the story:

She was released on bond two days later but I cannot find any further articles about her. Baring even one titty can get you arrested in our lovely state. Sic Semper Tyrannis indeed.
My thought, posted elsewhere here, was that nudity could be acceptable 400m (1/4 mile) from a habitable structure. A compromise between allowing it everywhere (which may be hard to get accepted in many places) and the current situation. That said, it's rare to see many taking advantage of the freedoms we do currently have.
There is a part of the Dunes State Park (Kemil Beach) that although not officially designated, tolerates nudity. We been there a few times and have been totally nude for hours. We met other nudists there also. Again please note that this is not a sanctioned clothing optional area. Be kind, be polite.
