Beach Clean Up!
Return to Discussions14th ANNUAL CAPE COD BEACH CLEAN-UP
at Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown, MA
9:00 am, Saturday, June 12, 2010
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Cape Cod Beach Volunteers of Nudist and Naturist are holding its 14th annual Beach Clean-up. The event is open to all volunteer Nudists, Naturists, their friends and any one that would like to help.
THANKS to the many past volunteers, the time and effort has gained positive understandings with CCNS officials and the local community. Traditional clothing optional areas have been relatively hassle free. Based on previous successes, these beach clean-ups are scheduled to reaffirm that clothing optional sunbathers drawn to Cape Cod are environmentally aware and responsible partners in managing this fragile environment and good for local business.
The opportunity to insure credibility with CCNS officials and the community cannot be ignored. Ultimately we envision that traditional clothing optional areas will be restored on Cape Cod.
A pre-clean-up count is important to schedule the services provided by CCNS and the Cape Cod Beach Volunteers. A THANK YOU barbecue will be held in the Herring Cove Beach parking lot, followed by a chance to relax on a traditional Truro Beach.
This event is sponsored by the following organizations and clubs:
AMERICAN ASSOC for NUDE RECREATION
AANR-East REGION
SUNCHASERS TRAVEL CLUB

This clean up has a goal of eventually influencing CCNS to allow nude use to return to one of the beaches on Cape Cod.
Thank you Catbird, that's right. The goal is to work with the NPS to bring back a sanctioned area for a stretch of nude beach that has been historically nude. A lot has been accomplished in the last 14 years. Initally, when NPS took over the National Seashore in Cape Cod, this was a MAJOR battle. And while the beach is still not sanctioned, theclean up year after year has gone a long way in establishing good will and creating a much friendlier relationship with the park rangers and NPS. The Cape Cod National Sea Shore is only one of two Federal Parks/Reserves in the entire United States where nudity is forbidden.
