As for Sweden vs NY or NJ, population density. Take a look at just about every significant hotspot and case counts and deaths, they are very much tied to population density. About the only places where thats less the case are places like South Korea where people have had no problem wearing masks.

That's like saying that the reason regular flu is more prevalent during the winter is that people tend to be congregated inside more during the winter. Which, of course, ignores the fact that within the tropics there are two flu seasons that coincide with the rainy season. However, people do not tend to be congregated inside more during the rainy seasons.
Rather, the truth is, it has to do with vitamin d. The connection between flu immunity and vitamin d was discovered over a 100 years ago. People make less vitamin d when the sun doesn't shine as much. As for Sweden, they are not all dead because Swedes routinely supplement with vitamin d.

No. Not at all. Because it's when you actually look at all of the data that it becomes clear that masks don't make any appreciable difference. I'm astonished by the number of nudist that buy into the government's illogical mask reasoning. Until this started happening I always considered nudist as being more critical thinkers than this. The masks are no more than a placebo for the masses of people that are scared shitless over a largely non-lethal virus. The number of deaths by Covid among healthy young and middle aged people just don't warrant all the hype that the governments of the world are spewing. The way to conquer a virus is by gathering herd immunity. Get out in the sunshine, get exercise, eat healthy food, take your vitamin D and Zinc supplements and just don't worry about it. And for God sakes, turn OFF the nightly news.
Masks have been a huge success in Australia. We are virtually free of the community transmission of the virus. We have been declared Covid Free in Victoria. Masks work!
Further, in 2020, we had but a fraction of the normal annual flu victims. A clear indication that social distancing and masks work. Why risk your life and that of others? Wear a bloody mask!
Some of those multiple studies that proved masks do make a significant difference were not just number crunching statistics, ive read and seen stories talking about how studies setup different environments with HVAC, room sizes, etc and they measured the spread of breath particulates with different masks and at least one actually had a COVID positive person participating such that between tests they had to fully sanitize even more carefully and use hazmat suits for the people checking the samples showing the spread. In every one of these they showed masks making a significant difference but there were variations, for example bandannas that some people wear and just pull up dd not do very well being thinner and a more porous material.
Great conversation. I was at a local nudist resort the other day. I found it funny that we all congregated around and in the pool mask less but when we were in the resort restaurant we complied with the government regulation and wore our masks. Naked except for a mask, just have to laugh.
