Private profiles
Return to DiscussionsI do not reject all of them.... No matter the friend request, I look to see if the person is certified or not. Also when they joined TN. Too Short of time and Not a Certified, its a rejection. Also the screen name is tell tale. If I have seen the person post, in groups, I give the benefit of the doubt.
I concur with one of the comments made in the discussion that we are in a central place for Nudists so mutual respect should be a given. Unfortunately the time we live in, information in some places is King and can cause issues. So for some I can see a reason for Privacy. That being said, I think it is on the person with the private profile to be more up up front about the Friend Request and put in a message on the request and include at least their first name with the request. Its kind of a way of showing that that are not just lurking, strange or something to that effect. I know from some of my friends that they are concerned about everything on the internet. There are also ads always noting ID theft, protecting personal info, etc. So there is a balance to it.
I do get and understand the reason for Auto reject on request when the person has a private profile. There is 2 sides to every thing an lets face it, not everyone is a good apple, so...
I appreciate that some people may have to be discrete but when they don't even have any photo - maybe a part of their body or no information on their profile then no.
It's awkward that there isn't the facility to get them to open their profile first before opening mine after they've sent a request.
I reject requests from private profiles. When I get a friend request, I look over the profile. If I find a common interest then I'll accept. I'm not in the habit of "collecting" friends. That is a problem with Social Media of all type today. The idea that the more friends, followers etc. you have, the more popular you feel. I guess I'm too old for that kind of rubbish. Incidentally a friend request from a certified user is more likely to be accepted by me.
Resonate with this approach
The reason my profile is private is because of all the blank profiles on here. It should be a condition of the site that everyone uploads pictures. I'm a member of ohnaturist.com and you can only see other members' pics if you upload your own.
Strange that someone would comment on this thread and their profile is private. I don't out right reject private profile request. I will send a msg asking why it's private and wait for their response. Then on what response I get I will then accept and see what is there. As I do with other request from open profiles, if they have only one pic, in clothing or face only or no face, then I de-friend them. If they are not certify, that's not always a decline, again what pics they have will determine if they stay as friends. I find it's easy to accept, after they give me response, and if it's not to what my consideration of a profile, then I just de-friend, simple.
I do understand if new, they are not certified, but be on here for more than a month, it's so easy and besides you now have to be certified to upload pics. But again, individual has to have at least five pics and at least three fully frontal nudes whole body.
I am also on ohnatruist and I like their way of allowing only those with pics upload to see your pics of the same type, which is four types. If they don't have type that you have, they can't see it. So if they upload nothing, they see nothing. I've yet to run across a fake profile on that site. Plus an added feature is that when you view pics it's on their browser that does not allow coping. Granted it doesn't prevent someone to screen save or take a pic, but it's far more complicated than on here where you can copy pics.
