Return to DiscussionsStarted when I was 12 years old would get naked anytime I was along at home. Then July 2020 I had my first experience with other nudists at a legal public spot in NY just east of Erie PA. Ive joined a local nudist club they have socials twice a month. I now regret not taking the next step from home nudist to being naked around others sooner, better late than never I guess.
I do not recall a specific first nude experience as I always enjoyed casual nudity at home. Nude in locker rooms were not really a big deal for me as I had no shame showering nude and changing with other kids my age and older who were all using the pool. I actually always enjoyed being nude and checking all the different bodies and sizes out. LOL
I was in high school when a nudist friend invited me to go with him to a nearby state park. We went to a secluded sunny spot surrounded by pines and I had a feeling of freedom that all nudists experience. I was a paranoid guy, and was reluctant to go back in case a ranger showed up. A few years later I went to a nude beach and there was no turning back. Became a regular and enjoy every opportunity to be naked.
For me, it started when I was required to shower after sport and PE in school. I loved being naked in school and thought that was really cool. Then I started finding excuses to be naked outside school, and by 8th grade I was sleeping naked. In upper school, I had some sport team buddies who liked to hang naked, too. In college & grad I told roomies I slept naked. Nobody seemed to care. A couple of roomies said they did too, and a couple of others tried it and loved it. And now, when the weather is right, and when I can I'm naked at home as much as possible. Really enjoy the local k-spas, too.
I was 37 when a friend of my took me to a nude beach. He knew i was insecure about my penis. He told me there more men than you think who are not big there, He was right. After a few times we went there i felt more at ease naked and went to a nude beach on my own. Now i love it!
I honestly can't remember how old I was other than it just feels like always. I remember pulling off my pajamas after being put to bed, simply because it felt better to sleep nude. I can recall having my daily bath and never being in any rush to get dressed and remembering how nice it felt to walk around nude. I recall when I was old enough to stay on my own, that I loved for everyone to leave the house so I could have a dose of "nude time." I can remember excusing myself to go to bed early or to do homework and in reality it was to have naked time alone in my room doing every day things for hours. When I went to college, I was in my own apartment and that's when spending the whole day nude became the normal thing other than when I had to go out. Eventually the internet came about and I began to talk with and meet other nudists virtually. I made two good male friends (older and more seasoned nudists), who I began to spend time with. That turned into visiting socially nude places like resorts and legal outdoor venues. The rest is history. I know meeting my two friends, really helped mentor me on that my feelings were normal and my desire to go nude was equally normal. I try to be that kind of friend to newbies or those who want to try social nudity.

I was a little older but did surreptitiously get nude as a teen when I was the only one home, but only in a limited way. I was aware nudism was a thing thanks to seeing a couple of titillating news reports about nudism and a child and knowing a local public pool had a weekly nude night.
I only slightly expanded my horizons after my girlfriend encouraged me to be brave enough to wear Speedos and then I started thinking about wearing even less when we found a quiet beach. Public nudity only became a thing in recent years when I decided I may as well give it a go and made my first visit to Sunnyside North beach.
