Why would a blind guy want ot go to a sun club?
Return to DiscussionsWhile I was on my way to go to a sun club for the first time, a stripper in a bar ask, "Why would a blind guy want to go to a nudist resort?" As a legally blind man, I am able to see a little, and I have other senses that would enjoy the feel of the warm sun and the breeze as it runs over me.
Wow...and I would say, for the same reason a blind guy would go anywhere else...for the social aspect, for the wonderful feeling of the sun on skin, many more reasons! Sheesh, what an idiot your questioner was!

My first wife is african-american with brown skin.
People would ask what "the point" of being a nudist was for her, since she obviously wasn't looking for a full-body tan.
Not every nudist is a sun-worshipper. It can also be about the feeling of being naked and the people you meet.
Different situation but same idea.
Our neighbor couple at our club is blind. They drove 5+ hrs one way and were members for many years. It was amazing what he could do working on there place. They were true nudist no question and perhaps that's why they participated with or with the gift of sight. I watched him do light construction, re roof his place and do light construction by feel to maintain his place. Worked on anything mechanical by feel as well.
I once heard Mickey sawing lumber at night. I said hey it's night time and dark out and your running a saw? He retorted "So?" We miss that couple as they finally resigned the membership.
