Why do self-righteous vegetarians annoy me so much?
Return to DiscussionsI can't stand vegetarians, especially those looking for converts. Somebody trying to tell me that meat is murder is like them trying to explain the same concept to a lion, it doesn't exist in my universe. Cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese and turkey have been shaped by millenia of selective breeding to be food animals, that is their purpose on this planet. Without humans to tend them, they die. I am a big guy and my body can't run on grains, beans, fruits, and veggies. I need meat and lots of it. You can pass the veggies and potatoes and I'll happily partake, but something better have died for the main course.
I think next time a vegetarian tells you not to eat meat you should tell them not to wear clothes. Of course if you happen to be at a nudist resort pot luck I guess that wont be a very compelling argument.

As a vegetarian I find it just the opposite. I go about my business, but everytime I sit down to a meal with a meat eater, I get hounded by questions...what is that? why don't you eat meat?..its totally the way man is meant to eat... That looks nasty.. Oh I hate tofu. You know what. I don't care..I am not looking for converts. I have made a choice and its MY choice...as eating meat is yours. Please don't try to convert me back to eating meat filled with hormones, herbicides, steriods, fungicides, pesticides, cement dust and who know what else...I'm Happy...I hope you are too!!' Stay Naked, Stay Happy! Go Meat! Go Tofu!
You posed this 13 years ago. If you are still on here you know it has only gotten worse. A vegan in Australia is repeatedly and nastily asked her carnivore neighbors to keep their cooking aromas to themselves. I would fire up another grill and throw a rack of ribs on if a neighbor of mine requested that.
