Running Nudists
A group for those of us who think running is a nice way to exercise. Do not think there are so many of us who are able to run naked as the group is for both naked and clothed runners.
Bouncing Buns (7k trail run at Sunny Rest Resort, Palmerton, PA)
Return to DiscussionsSunny Rest Resort had their 5k Wiggle Jiggle & Giggle clothing-optional 5k run this past Saturday, and as aways it was a blast!I was unable to run due to a knee injury, so I helped out. (If you were there running you may have seen me; I was the guy writing runner numbers onto the finish board as runners came through the chute). About 120 runners came past the finish line and it looked like over 100 were running nude.
Sunny Rest will be hosting the Pretzel City "Bouncing Buns" 7k trail run on August 28th, so I encourage all those who can make it to come up to Sunny Rest and run, walk, or cheer on this very fun (and technically challenging) race. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, so it's even for a good cause.
Hey, I remember seeing you at the finish. I wasn't going to drive down from Boston and not run nude! I came in 57th, but I beat my only other (clothed) 5K time by 2 minutes. I can now add running 5K's as something that is more fun to do nude. Don't know if I am ready for a 7K trail run, though.
Good news! After much physical therapy (and good old-fashioned stretching exercises) my knee seems to be in OK shape, at least good enough to run. Did a 5K last week and my knee isn't bothering me. So, I plan to run the Bouncing Buns 7K this Sunday. Hopefully some others from TN will be there as well. If you are anywhere near Palmerton, PA this Sunday you should at least come watch; Sunny Rest has free admission for runners and reduced rate for spectators.
Good to see you running again! Wish I were closer to PA to join this run.
Same here. We stayed a long weekend at Sunny Rest for C's birthday and luckily that was when the 5k ran. Whichever race they run next June, we will look into spending a long weekend again!
Yes, I ran the Bouncing Buns 7K at Sunny Rest this past Sunday. I was very careful of my knee, and also because of rehab I haven't been training, so my time was not very impressive, 44:14, but still I finished and felt good about the run. Looking forward to next year. Also, I got to play in the volleyball tournament and my team won that ("B" division). All in all a very enjoyable weekend.
2017 runs at Sunny Rest have been announced:
June 10, 2017: Wiggle, Jiggle, Giggle 5K road race (run through the campground on paved roads)
August 27, 2017: Bouncing Buns 8K(!) trail run (run one lap through some of the campsites, then through the woods)
I did very little running in 2016 because I injured my knee during a half marathon October 2015. I was forced to skip the 2016 WJG, but did run the Bouncing Buns (but at a slow, careful pace). My knee seems to be doing OK, so I plan on running a 5K in Las Vegas in January for the Sin City Shootout, and if that goes well then for sure I will try to get to both Sunny Rest races this year. Hope to see you there!
John.
I did this run last summer...that was in part the reason to go to Sunny Rest for my very first nude weekend! I am a runner, and what a run it was; I found it to be somewhat difficult! I am a road runner, have never done a trail race before, so that was strike one. Strike two was the heat; as i get older, it seems I can't run in the heat the way I used to. Strike three was drinking too much Friday night and being dehydrated! (Stupid me) I'll tell you what though; I will do it again in a heartbeat!
Hey Newbienudist, wait till you hit the 60s. You'll be running like hell, tearing up the trail with the certainty that you're leaving everyon in your dust. Unfortunately everyone will be passing you like you were standing still. LOL
I'm thinking of doing it again this year as well.
