School Teachers Who Are Nudists!!!
Personally, i know a a couple of school teachers who are nudists, so i figured i would start this group up for school teachers lol!!
Dress code
Return to DiscussionsConsidering what college kids wear to school these days, I think the idea of a dress code besides the unwritten rule of "don't smell and wear clean clothes" is no longer a viable rule on my campus. I have seen some outfits on students roaming the halls which would be better suited to a hippie music festival or a strip club! Somehow, being nude would be infinitely less tacky :P lol!
I have to dress like a reasonable adult, but am allowed to wear jeans and teeshirts as long as the saying on the front isn't obscene....which leaves lots of room for a history teacher. (My favorite and the one my students enjoyed reads "Study History: Find Out People Have Been This Stupid For Thousands Of Years".) Otherwise, things are fairly relaxed, probably because we are a community college campus.
When I was a high school teacher (I'm retired now) I was always complaining about the dress code. The dress code was very much female oriented, what the women couldn't wear. What themen wore was seldom addressed. I finally was able to get elected to the Site Based Decision Making Committee and was able to change the dress policy so that it was more equitable. My goal was to get it down to the barest minimum of control and luckily the principal was behind me. We were able to take all misogynist and racist dress restrictions out of the dress code and get it to the point that only "obscene" dress was banned. Of course, I would have preferred to teach nude.

Were jeans and/or shorts permitted?
