Return to DiscussionsThere's a clothing-optional resort near me. When I say, "Clothing-optional," let me make it clear that it is 100% clothing optional. There are no areas of the resort that require nudity -- not even the pool, hot tub, or sauna. If you want to wear clothing, wear clothing. And there are no areas of the resort that required clothing -- not even the registration office or the cafe. Want to eat in the nude, then eat in the nude.
It's for men only regardless of orientation.
One of many things that makes this place so amazing is that men are totally free to be men and have male bodies. Cocks and balls are always acceptable. Erections (though seldom seen) are a non-issue. Pop a boner? Whatever! Want to sport it around. Have at it. Doing so may have the possibility of garnering you more attention than you desire, but no one is going to be offended by it or tell you to cover it up.
None of this should change in the presence of women -- sadly, that's not the case.
Roughly what percentage of the men are nude:
In and around the pool? At least 75% of men are nude around the pool. Probably 95% or more in the pool.
In the Cafe? I've never seen anyone else nude at the cafe -- just me.
Elsewhere? In general probably about 50% during the day. In the evening and at night, very few.
And it's all totally ok. Wear a much or as little (nothing) as you like.
Don't really know why, but there's a strange and pervasive notion that sitting at the table to eat requires clothing. I've read of nude cruises that require guests to be dressed while in the dinning room.
I remember reading a letter to Ann Landers (syndicated advice columnist). A wife had written to complain that her husband had come to the table without wearing a shirt. To show the husband just has horrible that was, she left and return topless. He left and returned nude. What was she to do? I'm pretty certain Ann told her to follow suit. Ann was pretty sensible.
I remember another letter from a wife complaining that her husband pissed in the shower. Ann said she pissed in the shower and asked, "Who doesn't piss in the shower?" My mom also read that column and admitted she also pissed in the shower -- again, who doesn't?
But no idea where such misplaced formality comes from.
Since I eat at least half my meals nude at the table at home, I would not have a problem doing so at a clothing optional resort. I am surprised that most nudists don't feel the same way.
I read somewhere that clothing is required in full service restaurants on nude cruises because if the dining room is warm enough for nude patrons to be comfortable, the wait staff is uncomfortably hot.
So refreshing to read. Exactly how it should be. Otherwise optional means loads of people opt not to get naked when they should 100% be doing so. Not ifs no buts!
I often go to Gunnison, which is a clothing optional beach. Most of the people there are nude. Of the ones who are not, the majority are either with someone who is nude or wearing less than would be permitted on other local beaches (women without tops or either gender wearing thongs).
