Return to DiscussionsAt my camp, most people are shaved. They even tell you it is you option on how you want your pubes. But looking around, you want to be shaven. A handful of people had trim or a shorten bush. Several people sport their wax job. I prefer to be shaved. Even guys that are very hairy, they shaved their pubes.
Some family and friends have inquired about nudism and nudists lack of pubic hair, wondering if it was some requirement. We never try and convert anyone to nudism; we always educate them on misconceptions. They are relieved to hear that they wouldn't be required to shave theirs off if they choose to visit a beach, club or resort. Those that did, however, decide on their own to shave fully or partially, once they realized that they were among the very few that had a natural growth of pubic hair.
In our circle of nudist friends, there are only two couples that have kept their pubic hair natural. Over time, these 4 people removed some, most or all of their pubic hair and wondered why they resisted for so long. Still, it is a personal choice, and no one should feel pressure or be pressured into doing it.
Those that did, however, decide on their own to shave fully or partially, once they realized that they were among the very few that had a natural growth of pubic hair.
That was the case with my wife, who initially preferred a "buzzcut." But as we became regulars at our resort, she soon started becoming self-conscious of the fact that she was often the only one with any pubic hair at all amongst the nudists we socialized with. So her decision to start going bald was driven more by a desire to not stand out than an actual preference for being smooth.
We've discussed it; and she knows she doesn't have to shave completely. But she's more comfortable "looking like everyone else." I think that actually happens a lot; and many, once they've shaved and get that "added sensation of nakedness", then to stick to it on their own.
Its funny, I started shaving down there many years before I even discovered the nudist lifestyle. My main reason was bikini area when wearing swimsuits. It was easier just keeping everything clean down there. No bumps in the groin area. So when I did discover the nudist lifestyle and fell in love with it, I was already bare down there. I prefer it on me. It doesnt bother me at all if people have hair down there or not. My boyfriend can go either way and I think he looks great!

Same here with keeping things under control within the swimsuit. That was the initial plan, but I also prefer the look and feel, even if I keep it thinned to match my male body rather than 100% hair free.
