Ive discovered a few very nice and private swimming holes in Tuolumne County. My best advice is to use a topo map on your phone (Forest Service maps or Avenza are good apps). The water is generally quite cold but the many rivers and forest service roads make finding these swimming holes easy. Ive found good swimming on the Stanislaus, Clark Fork, Fence Creek, Cascade Creek, and the Clavey River. The Clavey has Gods Bath which is a hike and quite popular. You can find other options by following the River up or downstream on a map and look for forest service road crossings. My wife and I have found several secluded swimming holes this way.
