Return to DiscussionsI grew up in the country in a house where the air conditioning was open windows. Probably around ten years old when I last slept with jammies. Never looked back. In my dating years, all my girlfriends changed their sleeping habits to match mine. Spooning where one has nightclothes doesnt make much sense. On the hottest summer nights I slept on top of the covers naked including when I went to camp as a kid. Some of the others in my bunkhouse used to tease me about seeing me get an erection when I slept which is quite a common experience but I remained undeterred. I remember doing a sleep study which is the only time I have worn even boxers at night and having clothes on kept waking me up.

I didn't start sleeping nude on a consistent basis until I was in my mid 30s, and even since then I wear gym shorts when sharing a room with someone other than my wife. When I went for my sleep study, it said patients must wear pajama tops and bottoms. Since I own neither, I brought gym shorts and a sleeveless shirt, I asked the technician if really had to wear the shirt, He said no, but I did need to wear shorts.
I dont think I have ever owned a set of pajamas. When I was a kid I slept in underwear. At some point around age 14 I would wake up naked, having taken my undershorts off in my sleep. I then began taking underwear off before I got in bed. That varied over the years, based upon when I was in the military and whether or not roommates in the barracks were cool with me being naked. But as an adult in my own place I always sleep naked. Being nude around the house also varied, depending upon whether housemates were cool or not. But since I dont remember when I am naked almost always in the house, the pool, etc.
