SW Report: Sunday 3/30
Return to DiscussionsHey all. Hit Spa World today. Got there 8:30 and only four other guys there. By 10 it was maybe up to a dozen and after 11/11:30 filled up to easily 30-40 guys in the wet area and got pretty noisy. One guy brought his young (7ish year old) son, so that was great to see the new generation taking part. I left around 1.
Maybe four guys in suits -- the first guy removed his after surveying the crowd, and the others didn't stay super long. One drawback to the early arrival was that the bade pool was not super warm at first (thermometer said 94 but I didn't buy it) and the water coming out of the umbrella/mushroom was ice cold. Took a while (and people in the pool) to warm up. On the plus side, the sauna was actually bearable.
Got a scrub. Only one table in the scrub area and less in plain sight. Scrubber I hadn't seen before and he was thorough. Two differences from other scrubs I've had there. 1) when the scrub started with me lying on my back, he folded a washcloth in thirds and laid it over my genitals, which was new. maybe a privacy thing ? but no washcloth when I was on my sides nor when I was back on my back at the end for the final rinse. 2) the water in the bowl he rinsed me off with each time was nice and warm (not tepid; he got an extra tip for that alone), also he would gently splash a tiny bit on the side of the table so I'd feel it with my arm and have a warning it was coming since I had a washcloth over my face.
Good visit. Hope you all make it there (again) soon.
