Sunnyside And Pt Impossible Beach G

A group for those interested in supporting these two beaches and keeping their legal status. Possibly having organised beach days with BBQ's and meeting other nudists. Becoming part of the Clean Up days to keep the beaches clean.

Sunnyside 2025/26

Visited on Thursday 2025-10-16, with a warmer but windy day coinciding with me being able take a cheeky long lunch break. There seems to be more rocks than sand, especially on the beach that forms the approach from the carpark and the northern end of the clothing-optional section itself. It seems to be an annual pattern that rights itself as the weather changes into summer.

The rocky conditions didn't stop a strong turnout with attendance in the mid-50s when I counted, including the usual 10% female presence. Some I recognised as regulars, as is usual - I envy their regularity!

The water has warmed since my last visit, now at 14C/57F. Enough for me to dunk, but not stay in, let alone swim. A few others ventured in but I suspect most are waiting for warmer waters.

The air temperature peaked around 28C/82F and the forecast winds did not manifest themselves in a way that made things uncomfortable, although they seemed to keep the water up to. They were strong enough that one visitor had trouble with setting up his new shelter, but a small crowd chipped in with help and advice. Last I saw, our efforts succeeded in giving him the shade he desired while not endangering fellow beachgoers with flying objects!

As for me, I went reasonably minimalist as usual with just my cap, key, phone and small swimbrief which was off for as long as I felt comfortable. It made for cautious walking over the rocks without footwear - my feet have definitely softened over winter.

The carpark was 100% full with a few using the overflow parking alongside the approach road. A number of people from the nearby campsite were at the textile main section of Sunnyside, but I didn't see them in the water.
