Fake hunters
Return to DiscussionsI came across a group called Fake Profiles where they seek out people who are pretending to be someone else. Yes that is a worthy cause - I like people to be genuine. But...
But a dear friend got kicked out of TrueSwingers, the sister site, for having a false ID. I can tell you I have never met a more genuine and open person. She even has a destinctive tattoo. So it got me asking myself what evidence they use, not just in her case but generally. I read the statements and reasoning in the above group. Apparently someone is a fake if their photos appearwith another ID, maybe on another site, even a porn site. Sorry to upset people but that proves nothing. Someone can have more than one ID. Nudists can be professional models and (dare I say it) even beon porn sites. Photos can be downloaded from TN and uploaded onto other sites. Surely stronger proof is needed before such a strong, and potentially devastating, accusation is made.
And, I ask myself,do I care? Live and let live.
One way round it is to be cirtified. It proves site admin has seen a naked photo of you holding a sign displaying your TN username, which they can compare with the profile pic and which they can use to verify gender. But the lady I refered to above was Cirtified and she still got branded a fake.
