Towels for the beach, washing kit, flip flops, sun cream, sun hat, sun glasses, my camera, laptop, bottle of malt whiskey, watch, midge repellent, money.

I would pack toiletries (in travel-size containers), cell phone, laptop, chargers, wallet and the clothes on my back since you can't fly nude.

My bag was stolen at an overnight stop in Spain. They took everything but the bottle of whiskey and the clothes I was wearing - a T shirt, a small pair of shorts and flip flops.
