Using animals is not more harmless or sustainable
Return to DiscussionsSome people say, "you are killing more animals by eating vegetables than if you just ate meat." It is not true. More land is used for crops to feed livestock than any other use. That is why they are chopping down and burning the Amazon rainforests, so they can feed livestock. We also know how to do no till gardening or farming much better now. Of course any land use is taking away natural habitat, but we could actually reduce the amount of land used for agriculture if we only did sustainable farming for human food only.
