I was viewing YouTube live cam other night in key west and 30-50 bicyclist were having a full moon ride though town , only thing missing or should have been missing should have been they're clothes. how cool would it be to have a WNBR in key west and I'd be ok at riding at night as it would be cooler. sad the south other than New Orleans have no nude bike rides to my knowledge .

Depends on if you consider Texas to be part of the south. Austin and Houston both have one.
It is surprising that Florida does not. Key West is too small for a large one, but Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale are both very tolerant of minimal clothing so why not go full nude for a special event?

While the local governments in Key West, Ft Lauderdale / Wilton Manors and to a lesser extent Miami Beach may be receptive to a WNBR, the (not so) "Free State of Florida" would not. A friend of mine, that is well connected with the local governments looked in the possibility of doing a ride in Ft Lauderdale / Wilton Manors a few years ago. Off the record he was told that while it would be cool to have a WNBR, King Ron would not approve and might send the State Guard (King Ron's personal taxpayer funded gestapo to enforce things that the National Guard will not) It was tried unsuccessfully in Miami about 10 or so years ago.
I suspect the situation is similar in other southern states and am amazed that they pull it off in Austin (which I did in 2022) and Houston (in 2024, but then we were riding in an empty warehouse district after dark and hardly anyone saw us)

It is a real shame that it can not be done in the southern states.

But in Florida it is legal to be nude on your property or someone else's if given their permission to do so, even if you are visible to the public and driving nude is legal, even in a convertible with the top down. Also, Florida has more clothing optional venues than any other state, I thought that even though Florida was conservative in some aspects, it was relatively accepting of nudity.
Austin has a reputation for being more liberal than most of Texas in many ways.

While I agree that nudists come in all political beliefs, there is a certain demographic that makes up a good percentage of the population in Broward County, Ft Lauderdale in particular, and especially Wilton Manors that the extreme right wing of the Republican party that controls the state totally despises as shown by their actions the past few years.

I heard that St. Lucie County did have a bit of push back by State agencies in the establishment of Blind Creek as a recognized clothing optional beach.

Before anyone tries to label me as a left wing liberal, Just let me state that for most of my life my political beliefs were Conservative. I have always been registered to vote as independent. I always voted for the parson, not the party. The first vote I cast in a presidential election was proudly cast for Ronald Reagan. I actually voted for Desantis for his first term. Since moving to Florida 23 years ago I admit my political beliefs have shifted more to the center as the 2 political parties seem to have shifted more to the extreme. I tend to agree with the Republicans more on fiscal issues and the Democrats more on social issues.

That's why I was disappointed when No Labels and Formed failed to gain traction. We need a centrist party in the US.
