World Naked Bike Ride

For everyone who's taken part, or would like to take part in the fantastic World Naked Bike Rides, which are growing all the time - 1,000 plus in London every June, and many more around the world.

2024 WNBR season is over for me. Start early planning for 2025

Return to Discussions

I am done with my WNBR rides for 2024 barring some last minute change of plans. I did Toronto, Buffalo and Houston. It looks like 3 a year is what the play budget can handle. For 2025 I am doing advance planning for Mexico City on the traditional second Saturday of June, Buffalo (an annual ride since I have family in the area) in July or August and maybe venture out west for a ride in San Francisco later in the summer. A San Francisco ride would most likely involve flying into Sacramento to visit my sister for a couple days then to San Francisco, hopefully on a weekend where there were other nude activities planned. The Mexico City ride would be my first venture outside of the U.S. or Canada and since it would be a 35 hour drive, I would fly in. The Toronto ride was awesome, Buffalo was good except we started an hour and a half late due to weather, and I don't even want to talk about Houston. Kind of a shame to end the WNBR season on such a sour note.
While in Houston I was told that Austin, TX is having a ride on 10/19. Austin was fun in 2022, Hippie hollow was great, but I try not to do repeat rides and if I decided to go, I would have to decide before this Wednesday to put in for time off so I doubt I will do it.

I still think that Montpelier might be a good idea at some point, Probably after you retire again so you can decide a few days before and only go if it is going to be reasonably warm. 4 more states for driving nude, one or two for gas stops. Also, since VT is one of the most nude tolerant states, you could probably leave your shorts in the car and go to or from the start nude.
Since Philly is now the largest in the US, both in terms of participants and onlookers, do you think you would make an exception to the once only and try it again sometime?

Montpelier is on my radar, possibly as soon as 2026. Being on the traditional second Saturday of June, I am already working on plans to do Mexico City on that date for 2025. I suspect that Mexico City may be a few degrees warmer than Montpelier on that date. I really wish they would do some of these far north rides later in the summer when the risk of 50 temps is less, plus there is a place in Vermont called The Ledges that I heard about, but in June I am sure the water would be frigid whereas in August it may be tolerable.
Philly was the largest this year only because Portland cancelled their ride. The only way I would do Philly again is if friends in the general region wanted to do it and I could stay with them as not to take too much out of my "Play Money" account. Nothing against the Philly ride, I did it in 2019 & 2022 and it was great, but with these rides bigger is not always better I would rather do another ride for the first time than repeat rides, the only exception being Buffalo due to having family in the area (free lodging) and occasionally Toronto due to it's proximity to Buffalo and the fact that it was one of my favorite rides. But again Toronto is on that second Saturday of June so that date will most likely be used for new rides.
