Lake Edun Foundation Directions
FOR THOSE TRAVELING FROM EAST OR WEST, APPROACHING TOPEKA ON I-70...rrFor minimal city driving and confusion, we'd recommend the following route: rr1. From I-70, take exit 353 - Auburn Road. This is just west of the main part of Topeka. r2. Go south about 5.5 miles to 53rd Street. You'll be able to keep track as the street numbers go up the further south you go. r3. Take a left to go east onto 53rd Street. Go about a mile to Indian Hills Road.r4. Take a right to go south on Indian Hills Road.r5. The FIRST turn-in on your right, within a few hundred yards, will be the parking lot - a gravel road pull-in to a large open grass parking lot. Don't necessarily depend on looking for a sign, since we don't always have one out. rrrFOR THOSE COMING FROM THE SOUTH, USING I-335 NORTH TO APPROACH TOPEKA... here are the directions, with the same idea of minimal city driving and confusion:rr1. From I-335 North, exit the turnpike via exit 177, to get onto I-470W. After you've paid at the turnpike toll booth, stay in one of two left-most lanes to get on I-470W. rr2. I-470W will veer to the left pretty quickly. Then after only about a mile, you'll take the Burlingame Road/ Hwy 75 South exit (exit 5), on your right. rr3. From the end of the off ramp, turn left (south) onto Burlingame Road. rr4. At this point, you're on Burlingame Road somewhere around 40th Street. Your next turn will be a right on 53rd Street, which is about two miles. As you continue south, the street numbers get higher. You're looking to take a right onto 53rd Street. There is no light or stop sign, just a street sign. You can only go right onto 53rd. rr5. After you've turned right onto 53rd Street, you're heading west. After about 2.5 or 3 miles, you'll get to Wanamaker, where there's a roundabout. rr(An aside - Wanamaker, going north from 53rd, becomes the main drag on the west side of Topeka, so should you be at Edun but want to go towards civilization for a grocery or meal break, you'd come back over here to this roundabout and head north). rrContinue west on 53rd for another two miles and you'll get to Indian Hills Road, where you'll take a left (to head south).rr6. The parking lot for Edun will be the first pull-in on the right. Our sign is not always out, so make sure you're just looking for the very first pull-in on the right. It is a gravel drive immediately opening to a large grass parking area. The main entrance trails will be on your left as you're pulling into the lot. r
