Very sarcastic, even about myself.

I consider myself a bon vivant. Lived and worked in eight countries (several more then once). Been in Chicagoland for about 16 years (dual citizenship)

Love entertaining, food, wine (been to Bordeaux), dining out (haute cuisine and dives), cooking, music, movies, working out, hiking, photography. I love everything French and would love to learn Spanish. I'm an avid learner: not a single day goes by where I don't learn something.

Have very eclectic music tastes (everything from Abba to ZZ Top. Not crazy about heavy metal, but I do love ACDC's if you want blood). I spend most of my time listening to contemporary music (got Kanye's Graduation and Late Registration on a lot recently), but perfectly at home with some disco or decent rock music (no Beatles). My current exposure to country music is limited to--and I know this is probably heresy to call the following "country":

1. Shania Twain: That don't impress me much
2. Carrie Underwood: Before he cheats
3. Charlie Daniels band: Devil went down to Georgia

OK, about the first two, I like the first two because lyrics are funny (and the girls are cute :-) ); the third one: that's some impressive fiddling. I'm always in awe of extraordinary talent (especially when it's something that I can't do myself)


Not a big sports fan. Can watch football (american football that is, a.k.a "rugby in fancy dress") and I like formula 1 racing. Don't get the whole fantasy sports thing at all.

I'm pretty active (work out several days a week) and try eat healthy (not too many carbs). I like yoga, but seemed to have lapsed recently - need get back to my yoga and meditation practice.

Hate politics, but do love a good political drama: West Wing, The Newsroom, House of Cards.

Have a twin brother (in UK) and twin sisters: one lives in South of France - so jealous!

Been doing a lot of camping/overlanding since Covid (used to do a lot in France). Bought roof top tent for my truck and building overland trailer now (just learning to weld:-)). If youre not into camping/overlanding were probably not a good match, as I go every few weeks (even in winter).

I consider myself a good guy. Like everyone, I have my faults
