- That is a pretty nice tractor you decided bring home. A little clean diesel and a nice bath in fresh motor oil coupla times year, she'll like it at your place. Be like a trusty dog, Soon as you open the door, she ll be waiting, what ya wanna do?
- I was looking at tractors, found one that I decided to have come live at my house.
- Thanks for adding me, and your pictures I can see are very nice, I am not a paying member so 6 is the limit.

- Yes, where is a place to go? Maybe the sand dunes south of Moses Lake?

- Is it possible to go to wreck beach by boat? I have looked at in in google maps, and don't see any boats there anywhere. I suspect there is not...

- Nice photos from the park. I did not know there was a park like that in Seattle.

About Sandpiper270
Retired, living on 10 acres where I put up grass hay and sell it. Not getting rich farming, but do enjoy doing it. Anxiously waiting for boating weather. Trying to get in 3 mile walks as often as possible. I walk near Hat Rock State Park, where there are lots of trails through the sagebrush.
My wife and I are taking care of her mother in our home. She has stage 6 Alzheimers, and someone has to be with her all the time now.
Update: Mother in law fell and cracked her pelvis about the 24th of march. After a visit to ER, it was determined she had a non-displaced fracture, and could go home for bed rest. So she is back home, and on pain pills. Can't put weight on the leg, and she can't stand or get up by herself. She can still try and get into mischief if she can reach things!
Update2: 12 Apr 17. Spent last friday PM in ER. MIL diagnosis 'agitated delirium'. Kept her there overnight, put in fluids. No identifiable cause, home again. Awake a lot at night, sometimes quite vocal at night.
Update3: 25 Apr 17. Since the delirium episode, my MIL has slowly gotten better. We have taken her off any psych meds, and now she sleeps with the light on. Was a tip from our caregiver who worked in an Alzheimers unit. Now she does not cry and moan at night. Does not sleep too much at night, but is not afraid. just fidgets with the blankets. We have also gotten her signed up with hospice. Not sure if they say her in her improved condition they would accept her, but she had a few other issues, so maybe. But during this time, I have found very little time to get out and walk.
Update3: 1 Oct 17. My MIL was on hospice for a while, then they took her off because she was getting better, not worse. We battled with them over meds some, they wanted to have her medicated with psych meds, that just did not work. She sleeps pretty normally now most of the time. She is very slowly getting weaker, but it is with quick setbacks, then slow recoveries that are always a surprise. She can't really hold a conversation, and we struggle to know what she is talking about. Very commonly can't finish a sentence. We are needing to have someone close to her so she does not fall or get into things. She can walk with a walker most of the time, and wheels around in her wheel chair. We just had a large deck built with a nice railing so that we can get her outside. Things are going well considering the disease, but we are not finding time to get out and do outside activities. Have done almost no boating or walking this summer.

Who I'd like to meet
People who are interested in nude boating or hanging out on the beach on the Columbia. Could be local or at Sauvie Island or Rooster Rock near Portland. Also a hiking partner would be nice.Or someone that could help me learn Chinese, or French, or German. Or maybe Swedish. I have needed, and learned, to be able to read a bit of Swedish for genealogy work; fortunately it is sort of like Norwegian. Well, I have heard that Norwegian is Danish spoken with a Swedish accent.
My Interests
Boating, gardening, boat camping, growing hay, genealogy, languages, trying to learn to play electric bass. Personality type INFP.Occasional contributor of photos to the Facebook group Bad Railroad Photography. [br]Now puttering with learning Dutch on duolingo. Sort of fun, way easier than Chinese, and seems halfway between English and German.Once worked for a few weeks as Vietnamese interpreter, not because I was any good at it, but because there was no one else that understood anything. :-)
Movies
Don't really watch movies.
Music
JJ Cale, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Adamo. Like most 70's and 80's music.
My Heroes
Can't say I really have any, but as a 2 year Viet Nam vet, I guess John McCain comes as close as anyone for what he did and went through as a POW.
