I was born and raised in Alabama, a state that used to be called the Heart of Dixie. At least, that is what it said on our state car tags for as long as I can remember. When I joined True Nudists, I gave myself the name "dixieman" to identify the section of the country where I lived. In recent times, the word "dixie" has taken on many negative connotations and it is now deemed to be offensive in our very sensitive society. The last thing I want to do is to offend anyone. So, I have changed my name. I chose "Southernman" only as an indication of where I still live. Anyway, this is a good name for me. I was raised "right" as we Southerners say to believe in God, family and country. And like the song says, I still say "Sir" and "Ma'am" and if you don't like that, then I don't give a damn! Alabama is a diverse state with mountains to the north, piney woods and hardwood rivers bottoms in the central part and beautiful white beaches on the Gulf. We have a rich cultural diversity of people and music and local history. But we are sadly lacking in nudist resorts and places for nudists to socialize. So, that is why I am here. After discovering this lifestyle when I was in my late forties, I found that I got more comfortable in just my skin without my clothes each time I visited this site. I am married to the same woman I met so many years ago and we have raised two children who are grown and gone. My wife and I have become home nudists and we both love relaxing naked around our private pool in our back yard. Hopefully, the neighbors will never catch us!

The best movie of all time is "The Godfather". But I will watch old movies especially if John Wayne is in them.

Music

Grew up listening to Hank Williams, Pasty Cline and George Jones on the radio. Then changed to good old rock and roll as a teenager. I still enjoy the 60's and 70's oldies but I listen to country stations a lot these days as I grow older. Sometimes, when I am relaxing I will pull out my limited supply of classical music CD's.

My Heroes

Lost most of my boyhood heroes as I grew up. I guess my heroes today would be anyone serving our country in the armed forces. Here's to you guys and ladies who risk your lives for us.
