I'm laid back, Epicurean, confident, interested in pretty much everything, utterly committed and faithful, have my priorities in order (so I know I can afford to have fun), and take care of myself. I'm also brutally honest, perhaps to a fault sometimes, a pitfall Im still learning to cope with and compensated by being supportive, actually listening, interpreting things in a positive way, and always keeping in mind that I almost never have all the information. I never felt entitled to anything: I'm a self made guy who grew up in a small village in France and ended up in Austin, TX via 3 other countries. I earned everything I have, and I'm not done yet!

I enjoy things that are all over the map, and I completely embrace this: enjoying one's life beats "keeping up with the Joneses" any day. Having lived in 4 countries, I see cultural norms as an entomologist sees an ant hill. If you manage to put me in a box, please do tell, I'd really like to know ;-) I make a living as a computer engineering, which is as much a job as a life long passion: I feel lucky being able to make a good living while enjoying my work. But I'm not anything like a clich computer geek: I am a Frenchman with a twist many twists. I love the US in general and Austin in particular, I love cats, wine, cooking French cuisine, listening to the most obscure, funky, booty shaking music youll never hear anywhere else (I play music and definitely want to learn to dance), and my hobbies go from linguistics to long range shooting to evolutionary psychology. I'm an eager life long learner: it is flat out incomprehensible for me to be bored in this day and age. I'm neither introvert nor extrovert: I never run out of conversation topics, however I don't enjoy wasting breath on nonsense like fashion trends, politics, and the fad du jour. What I love is sharing and exchanging ideas. There's always something to learn from one another.

Contrary to what seems to be the norm, I enjoy growing older... Because I know what I'm good at, what I suck at, what I enjoy, what I want, and how I'm gonna get it. I do what's necessary so I can do what I enjoy and take care of the people I care about. But Im definitely not Mr Middle Age Suburban Clone: partying and fun are the necessary rewards for holding my sh*t together. I still very much enjoy partying (sometimes pretty unreasonably even though I can't go for 72 hours straight anymore); I actually enjoy my life much more nowadays than when I was an insecure 20-something. Even if I'm glad for all I have done so far, I still have dreams for the future and I'm working at it! Incidentally, what goes for work goes for relationships: I don't feel entitled to a persons affection more than I feel entitled to a paycheck or a roof on my head.

Damn this sounds boring and borderline corporate marketing BS But hey its my first shot at this thing, Ill get better at it I guess!
