I prefer the term "naturist", which I think implies being natural in nature. When the sun is shining and it's hot outside, it seems perfectly normal to take your clothes off and enjoy the day. Because of some ancient religious beliefs, exposing your genitals is considered taboo, and even illegal in many parts of the U.S. Indecent exposure!
Although nudity is not illegal in most national parks, I still try to be discrete and out of view . Fortunately, I live in a place where it's fairly easy to find isolated areas and hidden beaches where there are no people to gawk at me.
