About raumuong
How long have I been a nudist? I like to say I was born this way. Realistically, though, it dates back at least to my first experiences skinny-dipping as a kid. Maybe it has something to do with body image, or just my own self-acceptance, broadly speaking, but I always feel better when I am naked, more connected. And I feel even more comfortable to be naked with other naked people around me.
Usually my wife (of 40 years so far) joins me in our naked adventures. I havent introduced her to this website, though, as she would be appalled by the Neanderthal level of posing and preening on some of the pages here. But I am assuming that there are various ways one can engage with this site, so I try not to be put off by this myself. Together, we have enjoyed social nudism in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Hawaii, France, Spain, Croatia, Indonesia and Thailand, as well as our favourite spot on the planet, Wreck Beach here in Vancouver, and we look forward to travelling to other sunny, warm places in the years to come.
As for hobbies and pursuits, in addition to travel and nudism we enjoy books, art, food, music (including my own writing and recording - https://www.reverbnation.com/guruv/songs ) and just being one with nature and the world around us. What do I/we expect to gain from signing on to these pages? I guess just a better understanding of what the nude life is all about and how we figure into it. And, who knows, perhaps some day we will meet some of the good people portrayed here and get to know them as friends, perhaps even you. In the meantime you can also read my attempt at philosophizin about social nudism by way of further introduction:
NUDISM AND RESPECT
Social nudism is about offsetting vulnerability with respect. I think what non-nudists fear about the idea of taking all their clothes off around others is that they will feel vulnerable, unprotected, judged by others. The reality, though, is that if everyone is naked, everyone is in the same boat, and each person instinctively knows to offset the vulnerability of others by showing them respect. It's the golden rule in a very immediate sense: do unto others as you would have others do unto you; respect your fellow nudists and your own sense of vulnerability will be offset by the respect they show to you. It can be very empowering on a personal level. And its not something you have to think about, it just comes naturally. Its a very human way of dealing with things. I truly believe that if our world leaders were all nudists, there would be no more war. The respect they would have for each other would not permit it. Not that that will ever happen, though.
