Scrabble 19 ended at "GITS" and was followed by "GETS", with no break in the word sequence. My comment about no more "_ITS" words did not indicate that we had reached a dead end. The overall intent, as I understand the rules, is to keep the sequence going throughout the game with no breaks. Having said that I'm not sure how or why Snugglebunny decides when to start a new series, i.e. Scrabble 21. I hope this helps.... and yes LASE is a legit word but ALL of the possible words had been played already. As the ref says in the soccer game: "Play on!!"
why was LASE (a valid OSPD word) been deleted when no more combinations were available, when in "Scrabble Part 19" the game ended at that point. i think this game should be put back the way it was and Scrabble Part 21 needs to be started.
Okay...just to straighten this out - Scrabble parts 1-19 were created because at that time I did NOT know how to create a "last page" link to help people jump to the most recent entry of the game. It was becoming a hassle when the game became over 6 pages to keep clicking the page jumps at the bottom of each page, just to get to the most recent entry. Each new "Scrabble Part" (1-19) begins EXACTLY whre the last one left off, including "part 20". It is not a new game, it has been one, longcontinuous game for almost 2 years. Now that I have learned how to put in the"last page" link there is no need tostart a whole new "scrabble" thread. So we will stick with Part 20 and not create Part 21.
Sometimes we reach a dead end ... no new words can be made because every possibility has already been used. To keep the game going as one continuous game, when a dead end is reached the last word has been changed so that the game can go on. This has been an agreement that everyone playing has found acceptable. That is why LASE was changed even though it is an acceptable word. Each of the regular players has removed/replaced/changed a word when that has happened. When someone other than myself makes that change I always double check to make sure they haven't missed anything. Desperado is correct. LASE would bring the game to an end as every possibilty to that word has already been used. It happens every couple of months (once it happened several times in one week). Over the almost two years that the game has been going on, it has happened often enough that those of us who have been playing for a long timehave gotten out of the practice of asking each other permission to make that change.
It used to be that someone would send me a message and would have to wait until I got the message (could be several hours or several days) then I would research a way out of the dead-end and message the person whose turn was affected asking permission to make the change and wait until they could respond (again several hoursto several days). By the time that whole process was completed it could be up to a week (possibly longer) for the game to continue on.
I know no offense was meant by making the change or by making the change without asking your permission. And I'm sure you would have agreed to it had the situation been explained to you. This was never a serious game. Just a little diversion from the sometimes heated exchanges that occur here on the forum. And part of the fun over the years has been to see how long we could keep it going. LOL, I never expected it to last more than a few months. In about two weeks, it will be two years!!
Thank you to all who have participated and continue to participate over the last two years.
And the game will continue on...

p.s. anyone know what happened to Nicky?
DeBEACHBEAR: corrections can be made at any time. When I compiled an alphabetical listing of all the words awhile back, I found two errors embedded in the list about midway. These were noted and corrected. Anyone who discovers an error can either correct it or ask for assistance. This is a friendly group focused on the challenge of making this list accurate and as complete as possible. We have over 10,000 words to go, so don't be shy. Dig in and keep us moving along.
ick! sounds like a disease!!! ...or an Hawaiian name for a type of fish!i do too many crossword puzzles or watch too much Jeopardy.
btw, considering the alternate meaning, have you noticed the phrases we've been 'throwing' around; i.e., "the repeat of KAKA", "KAKA double", "second KAKA", and Jen's winner "catching the double KAKA". sounds like we're a group of dog walkers. lol.
