Minor home repairs

Our front door latch started jamming, so I bought a replacement. This morning I was able to install the new latch, but it required a bit of surgery on the doorjamb. The new latch rode about an eighth of an inch lower than the old one, so I had to move the striker plate down to make everything fit. Luckily, it wasn't that hard, and the work was done quickly. One of the cats attempted a bold escape but timed it wrong, so I was able to grab her and stuff her back inside.
