As others have said, it would depend on the person. For example, Ive accepted some coworkers friend requests on Facebook and declined or ignored others. It all just depends on the person and our interpersonal dynamic. The same would apply here. If theyre on TN *and* send me a friend request, they obviously wouldnt be bothered by this aspect of my personal life.
Hasnt happened yet, though.
Absolutely.. I think it'd be great to have something like that in common. There are 2 guys I work with, I was talking about a cruise I went on, it was a nude cruise but I didn't mention that part. The one guy says well if you loved the cruise, you'd love this resort we have both been to in Mexico... They gave me the name of Hidden Beach... So at least we can share stories of our trips. With in the next year we're all supposed to go the same week that should be fun.
If their profile here is complete, public, and certified, and assuming I am otherwise interested in maintaining a friendship with them outside of work, then yes, I would be open to both. If I later needed to unfriend them, well, that might be awkward.
I most certainly wouldn't risk today's fraternizing laws in the work place by asking for a friend request and would do some serious thinking before accepting one from them. I've been thru the fraternizing of a co-worker accusations and it wasn't pretty for either of us. Learned my lesson!!
I keep my private life to myself ...
