Nude sleeping when not a nudist

It makes me smile to myself that there are many guys - here in the UK especially, that enjoy the freedom and comfort of sleeping and / or lazing in bed naked. In my limited experience most men sleep naked if not year round at least in the warmer weather, but they would never consider themselves as nudists, nor would ever even think of trying skinny dipping or some other such naked activity.

What are your tboughts ?

Probably more in the US than UK because from what I read, sleeping in underwear is more common in the US.
I do believe that there are many men and some women in the US that swim nude on their own backyard pool but they would not consider themselves nudists.

I think you are spot on, i have always slept naked, well except when i was young and living at home, but i never considered myself a naturist, it is only in later life that i have become a naturist and enjoy the freedom that come with it

I know some men who sleep naked but are not nudists or naturists, but they always take off their underwear when they go to sleep. It's something more common than we think.

And some men don't wear underwear so once they take their shirt and pants or shorts off, they are naked and ready for bed!

Since nudism is a social phenonom and sleeping naked a private or sexual one, I don't see a correlation between the two. Just like naked showering, there are benefits to naked sleeping as per this article: https://betterreport.com/sleeping-naked-benefits/

I read a statistic several years ago that about 1/3 of men sleep naked in the US. Very few of them would consider themselves nudists. They are just sleeping the most comfortable way. One of my forebears who immigrated from the UK always slept nude according to his kids. Maybe my preference for naked sleeping was inherited. I remember being really intrigued the first time I heard that little jingle which ends with: and sometimes in the springtime, and sometimes in the fall, I slip between the covers with nothing on it all. Year round works best for me.

I think it is a normal personal process. It takes time to realise that you are a nudist. You go to the sauna, you sleep naked, you are nude at the beach, you visit a nudist resort and boom! you realise you are a nudist.
