Presuming you are meaning that not only are they non nudists but not even naked (eg skinnydopping) that time, then it has to be the latter for me also.

I find it very comfortable to be nude around strangers and also friends, but feel the least comfortable around kin.

My main criteria are that I don't offend them. Amongst people I know I'm aware of whether they will be offended. For strangers I might limit myself to a clothes-optional venue or ask them first. Having said that I have done the odd dare - being naked in places I shouldn't. Oddly I've found men to be more likely to be offended than women.
